OUR HISTORY

I first found kava at the Root of Happiness kava bar when I lived in Sacramento, California. I loved the relaxing feeling I got from drinking kava, the ease I felt meeting new people while feeling it, and how it didn't effect my mental clarity.

I relocated to Virginia for a job where there weren’t any kava bars or anywhere to buy kava root to make my own. So, I ordered kava root from Root of Happiness and enjoyed the incredibly smooth relaxation at home after work before grinding for a degree with an online university. While I felt the bliss of the kava melting my stress and anxiety, I continually thought to myself, “I wish more people knew about this!”

I only served traditionally prepared premium kava, but the locals didn't embrace the earthy favor as much as I had hoped they would.

SIGNATURE DRINKS

So, I created a ton of tasty and beautiful drinks and those that the customers loved we put on the menu.

We wound up having a blast with Live DJs and other live music. Things were looking great and business was picking up…then there was COVID-19. We were located in a basement and had to shutdown. But, was I going to give up or was I going to pivot?

 

TIME BOMB!

The Time Bomb was the best seller, by far, and I wanted people to be able to continue to enjoy it and share it with their friends.

The vision for Flipside Lounge, LLC is to create a culture that is characterized by a community of eclectic personalities who are looking for a way to relax that doesn’t impair or intoxicate allowing them to live their best lives.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Flipside Lounge, LLC. is to catapult kava into the mainstream by creating revolutionary high-end products that allow kava to be more accessible (tasty) to the general public. That is, to allow them to enjoy the incredible effects of kava without having to acquire a taste for the flavor of the traditional kava “tea”.

 

PRODUCT/MARKET FIT (PMF)-

There is a massive untapped market for the experience kava provides. Kava bars are sprouting up all over the United States. Indeed, many kava bar owners open up several locations within a few years of starting their first, due to the overwhelming demand for this product and the positive culture it enables.  Today, there are approximately 100 kava bars in the US, which is a third more than in 2012. Nevertheless, Flipside Lounge, LLC is a completely new take on how to serve kava which gives us an unprecedented advantage in this quickly emerging market.

 

OUR COMPANY’S MATURITY-

 Flipside Lounge, LLC was founded in March of 2018, and is in the emerging stage of a business within an emerging product market. There has never been a better time to start a kava lounge, nor is there a better location than central Virginia. Over the last three years, I have conducted market tests on the receptiveness of potential customers and the reception has been incredibly positive. During demonstrations of the product at local businesses, customers felt a deep connection with the gentle and smooth relaxation that came over them as they enjoyed the effect kava provides in promoting a positive social environment.
